In the Spring Term of Year 6 your child will meet staff and pupils from Ballakermeen High School who will visit Ballacottier Primary School as part of the transition process from primary to secondary schooling.
They will then be invited to attend an open evening at Ballakermeen High School in the spring term prior to their transition to secondary school.
The children are able to spend transition sessions experiencing the environment and lessons at Ballakermeen, as well as taking part in sporting and musical events that provide the children with the opportunity to meet fellow Year 6 pupils from other Douglas schools who they will be learning with the following September. If you plan for your child to attend one of the other Island High Schools please let us know as soon as possible so we can ensure they access transition programmes provided there.
