We welcome any help from parents who are able and willing to give up their own time.

Perhaps you have a particular skill or interest which you could pass on to the children; or, maybe, you have a little spare time each week that you could give to the school by helping to supervise the children? We draw up a list at the beginning of each school year, so please do send your name to school if you think that you can help - particularly with any of the following:- football, netball, cricket, rounders, badminton, swimming, table tennis, gymnastics, needlework, cookery, hearing children read, technology or other handicrafts, artwork, music, drama, chess, public-speaking, country dancing, photography, gardening (the inner courtyard).

We also need help when special sporting events occur and when we arrange outside visits. If you know that such a special occasion is due and you think that you might be able to help, please let your child’s teacher know.

All parents need to be DBS approved (police checked) prior to helping. If you are interested, please contact the school office.

Fundraising

Parents and teachers usually work together to raise money for the school. Classes take turns to organise whole school events and activities, such as discos, quizzes, car boot sales and fayres etc. Class teachers contact parents and usually hold a short meeting to arrange the event they have responsibility for. A list of events and dates is issued at the start of the academic year.
